I definitely have two distinct sides to my personality. On one end, I can be a bit of an introvert. I’m usually shy when in the presence of a large group of people I don’t know, even though I am super outgoing and fun once you get to know me. At work I’m professional and focused on my tasks at hand for the day. On the other end, I love to go out dancing and I’m not afraid to get a little crazy sometimes. I love adventure and I’ve found with age that I’ve become incredibly more open to trying new things. I find myself saying yes a lot more than I say no these days. And one of the many things I love about fashion is that I can use my clothes as a tool to show all of this.
My personal definition of style is that it’s a visual representation of your personality. Bold colors in unique shapes might show you can be a little quirky, while business attire may show your professional, more serious side. For me, I love using fashion as a way to show both aspects of my personality. I love mixing up classic pieces with some that are a little wilder to create a look that is uniquely mine. It took me a long time to find my own style, but now that I have I have such a fun time putting together looks.
Top: F21 (similar) | Pants: LOFT (on sale, $39.50!)| Shoes: Nine West | Clutch: Pour La Victoire | Bracelet: Jeweliq “Acapulco” | Earrings: F21(old)
For this outfit, I mixed up these classic ankle pants with this fun neon printed cheetah top I bought (ok, my mom bought it for me because she’s the best) in New York a couple of years ago. Instead of going with a neutral top, I wanted to show off my wild side, and this top was the perfect solution. I also added this neon bracelet from Jeweliq to compliment the green in the shirt. The result is a look that’s fun and playful while still being work appropriate.
