Wild Side

I definitely have two distinct sides to my personality. On one end, I can be a bit of an introvert. I’m usually shy when in the presence of a large group of people I don’t know, even though I am super outgoing and fun once you get to know me. At work I’m professional and focused on my tasks at hand for the day. On the other end, I love to go out dancing and I’m not afraid to get a little crazy sometimes. I love adventure and I’ve found with age that I’ve become incredibly more open to trying new things. I find myself saying yes a lot more than I say no these days. And one of the many things I love about fashion is that I can use my clothes as a tool to show all of this.

My personal definition of style is that it’s a visual representation of your personality. Bold colors in unique shapes might show you can be a little quirky, while business attire may show your professional, more serious side. For me, I love using fashion as a way to show both aspects of my personality. I love mixing up classic pieces with some that are a little wilder to create a look that is uniquely mine. It took me a long time to find my own style, but now that I have I have such a fun time putting together looks.

Top: F21 (similar) | Pants: LOFT (on sale, $39.50!)| Shoes: Nine West | Clutch: Pour La Victoire | Bracelet: Jeweliq “Acapulco” | Earrings: F21(old)

For this outfit, I mixed up these classic ankle pants with this fun neon printed cheetah top I bought (ok, my mom bought it for me because she’s the best) in New York a couple of years ago. Instead of going with a neutral top, I wanted to show off my wild side, and this top was the perfect solution. I also added this neon bracelet from Jeweliq to compliment the green in the shirt. The result is a look that’s fun and playful while still being work appropriate.

How do you convey your personality through your clothing choices? What’s your personal definition of style?

Yeah I had to get the curvy version – much better fit on me! You should buy them now, all pants are $20 off on their site. Wish I would have waited a little longer and got them more on sale 🙂

What a fun outfit! Those blue pants are so cute, I love the color! I love how you described your style–honestly I feel like sometimes mine is all over the place, so I’d love to be able to nail it down in a few sentences, like yours! As of now it’s…I dress for whoever I feel like being that day haha.

    Have a great weekend! xo

Thanks girl 🙂 Mine can be all over the place too, I have had quite the style journey from high school. I can be a lot like you describe sometimes too, I don’t constrict my style to one particular genre or style, I just wear what I like and it sometimes happens to appear consistent. 🙂 Have a fab weekend!

This look is so grown up and polished despite being so casual in its separate elements! I think you definitely represented the sophisticated and playful sides of your personality well with this outfit. I can’t believe those pants are only $40! They are so tailored and chic – I must have them haha!

You’re so gorgeous! I love that second photo. This outfit is fun but also really classic which I love – and those shoes are amazing.

I definitely have two sides to my personality. I can be incredibly introverted and quiet at times, but then I can also get really loud and crazy. Hope you have a fun weekend with a little bit of both craziness and relaxation! 🙂

I’m exactly the same way! I’m trying to work on it so new people don’t get such a bad first impression but it definitely takes time for me to open up to people fully.

Way to work that outfit!! I’m a scaredy cat when it comes to prints and bright colors, but slowly getting out there..slowly. I really like solids but my personality (through clothing) is always classic and put together (for work) and casual as can be (with shorts and shirt) outside.

G especially prefers me in casual…like casual casual! He thinks boots outside the jeans w/a scarf or cowl sweater is being ‘model’ and that’s not a good thing to him. haha I’m still a bit baffled at his dislike for those outfits since I’m loving them. haha What’s a girl to do!

Thanks! I was never one for bright colors either but when the trend came around this summer I just couldn’t resist and since then I’ve gone color crazy. And in my opinion men just don’t get it sometimes when it comes to fashion…John could definitely care less what I wear (I look the same to him whether in PJs or a dress and heels) so I understand where you’re coming from!

Stephanie, I really have to admit that I enjoy reading your blog. Not only do you offer lovely outfits for the eye but there are lovely and interesting contents your write about. You can tell that you are a lil bit shy but I can imagine that you are a fun person when you get to know the people aroudn you better. Ok now to your fantastic outfit of the day :-). This look is so polished yet casual. That cobalt blue pants is made for you, love how it looks on you. I think you definitely represented the chic and playful sides of your personality well with this outfit. Playing and experimenting with clothes is a great way to show off and underline your personality. I am the more romantic playful and chic type but that hasn’t always been like that. I think styles change during the years but since 3 years I arrived and stick with my style 🙂

Have a lovely week Steph 🙂

Ani, this comment was so sweet and it made me so happy reading it! I’m so so glad you enjoy reading the blog and find what I post about interesting. Seriously, that means SO much! And thank you for the super nice comments, I’m already obsessed with the cobalt blue pants and I think I might have found my new favorite color! I think style definitely changes over time too, I know my style has changed drastically over time but I’ve finally reached a place where I feel I’m beginning to be consistent with my personal style. Thanks for reading and commenting! 🙂
