We’re going on a cruise!

(source)

Lucky for John and I, August means we get 3 paychecks this month. Since we’ve been on TONS of vacations this summer but haven’t yet done something just the two of us, we decided to take advantage of those extra paychecks and use them to have some fun. What better way to do that than to go on a 3 night cruise to the Bahamas?!

I’ve never been on a cruise so I’m super excited to spend a few days at sea. While the cruise isn’t until the beginning of October I still can’t stop thinking about it and all the fun things we’ll get to do. The ship has tons of excursions available, snorkeling being one of our favorites and one we are definitely going to try, and we’ll get a full 2 days in the Bahamas. I can’t wait to have this experience and I’m also pumped to cross #1 off of my 20 before 25 list!

Since I am oh so excited for the cruise but wanted to make this post a little more interesting than me getting all giddy about our upcoming vacation, I wanted to share a few of my favorite photos from places John and I have been or fun things we’ve done together in the past. Enjoy!

One of my favorite pics of us. Taken in Tybee Island, GA

Daytona Beach, FL…a pic from when we were still long distance and I hadn’t yet moved. Feels like forever ago!

Hot air ballooning for John’s bday this past June

Us with the chase vehicle after the hot air balloon landed (very bouncy, quite the experience!)

John feeding me to Trex in the Jurassic Park exhibit at Universal – read more about this day here

Our first canoeing experience together at Wikewa Springs

Remember that gator I mentioned when I told you about John needing to see it up close and personal? I know it’s not the hugest…but I felt very vulnerable being this close in a canoe!

Photo from our trip to Duck, NC this year with John’s family. Read about it and see more pics here.

What fun places have you been or what exciting things have you done? Are you squeezing in any last minute summer vacations?

How was the hot air balloon? I think I’d panic. Lol. Yay for the cruise! If you can, you guys def. need to go to the Atlantis water park! It’s soooo fun! 🙂

I know, they offer a day there as one of the excursions but I’m not sure if we’ll have enough time since we’re only there for 2 days. Luckily us FL peeps can get cheap deals so I’m sure this isn’t going to be the last cruise we go on!

SO FUN! I did the same type of cruise a few years back and it was honestly great–just the right amount of time on the ship! I can’t wait to see all the gorgeous pictures you’ll take. You two are such a cute couple!

That’s what I’m thinking is that it will be just enough time. The perfect weekend getaway 🙂 And thank you, I need to invest in a cheapo underwater camera too for when we go snorkeling!

I love cruises! Have a blast! Unfortunately we don’t have any vacations planned for the rest of this summer, but we’re hoping our cross country move is fun 🙂

    Steph,
You may want to wait until you get to the Bahamas to book excursions. Usually they are cheaper when you get off the ship. Love reading your posts. Enjoy the cruise.

Aw, it looks like you two have had such fun adventures together! I’ve never been on a cruise myself and want to go so badly! Sleep, tan, eat and have someone else do the “driving?” Yep!

I’m so jealous that you got to go in a hot air balloon! That sounds like so much fun 🙂 Also, that gator IS terrifying. It’s even more terrifying in the picture than what you wrote about it haha – I do not blame you in the least for feeling vulnerable! I can’t wait to hear all about the cruise and to see what you pack, of course! 🙂

It was a BLAST seriously such a unique experience, you have to do it sometime! And I laughed when I read your comment, glad you actually remember me mentioning the gator and even more glad that I’m not alone in my fear of it! I wish the cruise was closer…I can hardly wait! I will definitely be sharing the experience with the blogging world 🙂

I told G that I wouldn’t go on a cruise until we were married…so we could ‘fully enjoy’ it and I just can’t wait!! haha I’ve wanted to go on a cruise since I was 20 and went to book it but the cruise line wouldn’t let me since my friend wasn’t over 25. Darn rules! And since then, I’ve never been able to go! 🙁

I love your trip pictures. We went on a hot air balloon ride over Lake Tahoe and it was beautiful! Loved it. And the dinosaur picture is hilarious! you guys are so stinking cute!

Aw that stinks!!! Well I hope you get to go on one soon 🙂 So awesome that you’ve been on a balloon too, it was one of the most unique experiences and I definitely want to do it again. That dino picture is a pretty accurate depiction of what our relationship is like on a daily basis…we’re goofy! 🙂

Silly wordpress!! Thanks for taking the time to comment again despite glitches 🙂 I seriously can’t wait for the cruise, I am counting down the days. Sounds like we have some things in common and I’m sure you feel my pain on the LDR since you’ve been there too! I’m totally glad to be living with my boyfriend now versus seeing each other once a month. Thanks for reading and I can’t wait to hop over to your blog!
