Feelin’ Fall

Fall is one of my favorite seasons, and judging by all the buzz on the blogosphere I’m guessing I share my love of fall with a lot of you reading this. While Fall in Florida may mean the temperature dropping from 80 to 79, I’m not letting that prevent me from writing about it.

Fall Lust List

  • First up is a good homemade pumpkin pie because let’s be honest, pumpkin pie (or pumpkin anything for that matter) is the best part about fall. At least for me.
  • It’s no secret that I love peplum (see outfit post here) and I’m also loving leather so why not find a piece that combines these two trends into one?
  • You can never have too much pumpkin-whether it’s a scented bodywash, a pumpkin spice latte, a candle, or a real pumpkin.
  • Beat the cold weather (or the heat for me) by curling up with a good book. Add blankets, PJs and a glass of wine and you have a recipe for a fantastic lazy Sunday afternoon. I’m super excited to pick up Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.
  • Red lipstick can take any ordinary outfit to the next level, and even though John may have said I resemble a clown when I tried some on this is still a must have fall beauty item for me.
  • I’m always down to add more animal print to my wardrobe so this season I’m in search of the perfect pair of leopard loafers. They’re perfect for any occasion and can easily be dressed up or down all while remaining incredibly comfortable.
  • Oxblood/burgundy/whatever color it is is obviously a huge fall trend. I can’t wait to snag the perfect pair of (insert correct color name here) skinny jeans.
  • Since there isn’t any evidence of fall approaching Florida anytime soon, I have to resort to constantly burning scented candles to bring about the feeling of fall. Candles are the perfect way to add fall into your home decor this season.
  • Obviously a brown leather Michael Kors bag is totally out of my price range, but a girl can dream right? I’m in desperate need of a new bag and this one is too pretty to pass up.

What’s on your wish list for fall? How are you incorporating the season into your own life and wardrobe?

Isn’t is adorable?! Seriously, my hunt is officially beginning for that top. Boots are such a pain to shop for, there are SO many options it can be overwhelming. Hope you find a pair soon!

Oh my gosh, that pumpkin shower gel looks amazing! I’ve wanted a pair of burgundy jeans but I can’t find any that fit so I guess that would still be on my fall wish list!

Doesn’t it?! I don’t think I’d ever get out of the bath tub if I had it. I actually just scored a pair of burgundy skinny jeans on sale for $14 at Target the other night…it was meant to be! Hope you find a pair of your own soon.

Thanks Susie! Have you picked up any leather pieces yet? I love the trend but am still so scared to try it…I need to find pieces that incorporate leather but aren’t too edgy. I think the leather peplum would be a great start.

I’ve also been on the lookout for some printed loafers! I’ve been hoping to come across a pair at Target in my size, but I have yet to find them. The search continues… 🙂

Haha yes, I should have said pleather. Real leather obviously does not fit into my budget! I have seen some great outfits around the blogosphere with leather leggings and definitely want a pair of my own. Thanks for reading!

I love this whole list. That bag is gorgeous. I need it now! I tried to buy a pair of oxblood skinnies but they didn’t have them in size so I bought my green one’s instead. I’m pretty sure I’ll be headed back tomorrow to get them in red too! Also, I heard such good things about Gone Girl. I’ll definitely have to add that to my reading list. xx

Ugh, isn’t it gorgeous? I have never been much of a bag girl (way more into shoes) but this year I am really wanting to invest in a quality bag that will last me a long time. Sorry about the skinnies but at least you got another pair in a great color! We’ll have to swap opinions once we both read Gone Girl!

That bag is PERFECTION! And I’m going to pick the brains of the men in my life and ask them why they don’t like the red lipstick. It’s something that baffles me, too.

I know, right? I seriously need it, and it is the perfect size for me! Yes, please find out for me. I personally think red lipstick takes any outfit up a notch but men don’t seem to like it. I don’t get it!

I know, I keep seeing pics of everyone around Pinterest/blogs with them and I have to get a pair. I tried to find some in my size at Target but they were sold out (I swear they never have size 7s in stock). Glad I’m not the only one totally obsessed with the bag 🙂

Ah! I remember when I went to the library to reserve Twilight and had a similar experience. I finally just caved and bought the book. 600 people waiting to read it so the book MUST be good, right??

Stephanie, it’s always great to exchange experience with people who went through a similar situation. I didn’t know you were in a distance rs either. You only did it for a year, I am suffering since 3.5 years, it’s so hard. I will have to move to the USA too but a lil bit afraid of giving everything up 🙁 How did the ajustment to the new environment go, job hunting etc? Did John came up with the plan of you moving down to him or the other way around. I sometimes have the feeling Eric is a lil bit passive what that considers…
Ok now to your wishlist. I am dieying to get a faux leather pepllum too, Zara hat an amazing one and it was sold out immediately. So in love with leather items recently, I have everything from a jacket to skirts what I really need is a good fitting pants and that peplum top :-). I have to try out this pumpkin lotion it looks so inviting, I would probably not leaving the bathroom when I use it hahahha.

Have a great day and thank you for sharing your story and your lovely comment 🙂

Hi Ani, I agree! I always love relating to other people in similar situations through blogging. For John and I, the topic of moving was a mutual discussion. We knew our relationship would eventually suffer if one of us didn’t move, but at first we didn’t know WHO would make the move. One day I just thought about it and decided I was willing to do it. For me, it was worth the risk because I didn’t want to lose John or our relationship. Honestly, it was terrifying moving 1,000 miles away from my friends, family and job but in time all of those things fall into place. I got a job after only about a month and we settled in really quickly together. Now I look back and know that moving was the best decision I ever made. If you have any questions or just want to swap stories you are always free to send me an email twentysomethingsteph@gmail.com . I know first hand how hard it can be sometimes and what a big decision moving is (especially for you, moving to the US!)

I definitely need to add some more leather to my wardrobe too…and I agree on the pumpkin body wash, I would never get out of the bath!! Thanks for commenting 🙂

We seriously are so alike, it’s getting freaky!! You definitely need a peplum top. I got mine from ModCloth and love it, it’s one of the most flattering tops in my wardrobe. Hope you find one this weekend and if you do I can’t wait to see it!

That is too weird – I actually went to Target after writing this and got a pair on clearance at Target too! There were only a few pairs left and I couldn’t believe there was one in my size.
