If you read Wednesday’s post, then you know John and I just got back from a long weekend trip to Anna Maria Island, FL. It’s only 2 hours from our house so it’s the perfect beach to go to for the day, for a week, or for the rest of your life (in my dreams). Since we were at the beach, it’s suitable for today’s post to be about beach style!
I enjoy the beach for many reasons, beach attire included. I love the fact that I can wake up, put on a bathing suit and head down to the water for the entire day. I usually live in my swimsuit for the duration of most beach vacations, but for those times in which I actually have to get dressed (i.e. going out for dinner), maxi dresses are my go to.
I spotted this dress at Target, its crazy colors and stripes luring me in from afar, and once I put it on in the dressing room I was in love. It was only $28, a steal in my opinion, and perfect for the beach. I decided to only add a necklace to this outfit because the colors are super bright and fun so I wanted to let the dress do all the talking.
I like to keep my style looking effortless and minimal at the beach, so I love rocking beach waves when it comes to styling my hair. I have a natural wavy texture, so I let the wind do most of my styling (no, I’m serious). BUT, if you don’t have natural waves I recommend trying John Frieda’s Frizz-Ease Dream Curls Curl Perfecting Spray (Target, $5). After showering, spritz curl defining spray over your hair and scrunch hair up with your fingers. Finish by drying with a diffuser and adding hairspray. Voila, beach waves!
